Brains Behind the Business® exists because the way we work, lead, communicate and support people wasn’t built with neurodiversity in mind.. and it shows!
We’re an organisation dedicated to making workplaces, services and systems more human, more flexible, more sustainable and more supportive of the way different minds think, feel, process and perform.
We do that through training, consultancy, professional development, strategic support, lived-experience insight and practical systems that actually work in real life… not just in policy documents.
At our core we’re here to create a world where people don’t have to hide, mask, overcompensate or burn out just to get through their day.
A world where difference isn’t seen as a disruption.. and starts being used as a strength.
People don’t struggle in isolation. They struggle inside systems that weren’t built for them.
Most workplaces and support frameworks were designed around one type of brain and everyone else has been quietly adapting ever since.
Our mission is to flip that.
We help organisations and professionals understand neurodiversity deeply, support people effectively, and create environments where every neurotype can thrive without fear of judgement or failure.
This work isn’t ‘inclusion.’
It’s infrastructure.
Clarity creates calm. We strip out jargon and chaos to find simple, sustainable ways to move forward.
No masking, no shame — just psychologically safe environments where people show up fully.
Honesty creates growth. Compassion creates trust.
Impact matters. We care about results that uplift individuals, teams and whole organisations.
We believe in better systems, not better masks. When you design work, communication and support with neurodiversity in mind, everything improves — wellbeing, culture, clarity, performance, collaboration, retention, productivity and psychological safety. The entire environment becomes easier to navigate, easier to lead and easier to belong to. This principle sits at the heart of every arm of our business and guides the way we create change.
No. We support everyone because when you build environments that work for neurodivergent minds, they work better for everyone.
Absolutely. Neuro-inclusive systems create clearer communication, safer culture and better wellbeing for all employees, not just those with a diagnosis.
Corporate training is for organisations, HR teams, SLTs and workplaces wanting change in their culture, systems and leadership.
Certifications are for service providers who want to deepen their skills supporting neurodivergent clients in a professional capacity.
Both use the same philosophy but serve different roles.
Yes training, consultancy and certifications can be delivered online.
We also offer in-person options in the UK.
Yes we offer neuro-inclusive workplace audits to identify invisible barriers affecting clarity, wellbeing, performance and communication.
Neurodivergent refers to an individual whose brain processes, thinks or experiences the world differently from what society considers “typical.” This can include ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, Tourette’s, OCD and many other cognitive differences.
It simply means: a different neurotype.
Neurotypical refers to individuals whose brain functions, communication patterns and processing styles align with the dominant cultural expectations. In short: their brain works in the way society was designed around.
Neurodiverse describes a group, not a person.
A team, workplace or classroom is ‘neurodiverse’ when it contains a variety of neurotypes – neurodivergent and neurotypical together.
A person cannot be ‘neurodiverse’ alone.
But a workplace absolutely can be.
In simple terms:
Neurodivergent = one person
Neurotypical = one person
Neurodiverse = a group of different kinds of brains
Understanding this alone can really help workplaces talk more accurately about brains, support and inclusion and helps everyone feel seen without labels being misused.
A neurotype is simply the way a person’s brain processes information, feels, thinks and responds to the world. Everyone has a neurotype – it’s simply different operating systems with different strengths and needs.
